Walaupun telah menjual hampir 80 juta copies album ke seluruh dunia ('Too Fast For Love di 81, 'Shout At The Devil' di 83, 'Theatre Of Pain' di 85, 'Girls Girls girls' di 87, 'Dr Feelgood' di 89, kemudian 'Motley Crue' taun 94, 'Generation Swine' taun 97, 'New Tattoo' taun 2000, dan 'Saint Of LA' di 2007), the band has often been noted for their hard-living lifestyles; all members have had numerous brushes with the law, spent time in jail, suffered long addictions to alcohol and drugs, had countless escapades with women, and are heavily tattooed. Yup, Crue terkenal dengan 'bad attitude' mereka, yang entah kenapa malah makin menaikkan popularitas yang notabene juga fans makin banyak, tersebar kemana-mana.

Sederet lagu hits juga telah mereka jasilkan, sebut saja : 'Don't Go Away Mad', 'Livewire', 'Girls Girls Girls', 'Dr feelgood', sampai 'Home Sweet Home' yang jadi masterpiece mereka. Cuman, kalau diminta untuk memilih, saya maunya 'Primal Scream sebagai lagu terbaik yang pernah mereka hasilkan.

Sempat vakum cukup lama, di 2007 kemarin jadi penasbihan mereka kembali sebagai 'The Saints & The Sinners' lewat album reuni 'The Saints Of Los Angeles'.
