A Hundred Million Suns direkam di Berlin dan diproduseri oleh Jacknife Lee (sebelumnya sempat menggarap album REM & Bloc Party).

Ada 2 David yang tengah onfire di Amrik sana, David Cook & David Archuleta, mereka mewakili masing-masing genre, mewakili masing-masing komunitas. Keduanya penuh talenta, bakat dan punya daya tarik. Yang membedakan nantinya hanya satu hal : bisakah survive di jagat musik dunia??

Toh banyak yang terbenam tak kuat mengais peruntungan walau bermodal selling record jutaan copies sekalipun. The King of Pop, Michael Jackson, kemana dirimu sekarang??? itu hanya satu contoh saja.

Sejauh ini David Cook masih memimpin penjualan album di minggu pertamanya 280ribu dan untuk David Archuleta terjual 183ribu, data tersebut berdasarkan Billboard Hot 200 Album Chart.

Sepanjang sejarah musik rock, duet Brian May-Freddy Mercury bisa jadi pasangan gitaris-vocalis paling komplet, dari sisi musikalitasnya, sampe kemegahan 'berbagi suara'. Aransemen vokal jadi materi dahsyat tak terbantahkan jika kita serius menyimak karya-karya lawas mereka semisal 'Love of My Life' apalagi 'Bohemian Rapshody'.

Setelah mereka, turun ke generasi glam rock 80-an, siapa yang menyangkal duet mesra Jon Bon Jovi-Richie Sambora ? 'Wanted Dead or Alive' bisa jadi contoh paling gampang.

'More Than Words', lagu paling mematikan dekade itu toh bukan karya Jon-Richie, malah datang dari kombinasi Amrik-Portugis, Gary Cherone & Nuno Bettencourt, namun tak sepanjang kombinasi Jon-Richie, mereka 'berduet' dengan lebih aman, hanya antara vokal dan gitar, tidak pernah lebih lagi.

Kemudian Gary Cherone sempat 'mencoba' mengimbangi kharisma David Lee Roth dan coba 'berdesah' ala rocker fighter seperti Sammy Hagar, ketika ia dengan 'permisi berlebihan' berdiri setengah hati di samping sang master Eddie Van Halen.

Lama tak terdengar, 2008 ditandai dengan dirilisnya album 'Saudades De Rock', yang buat saya, lebih dari sebuah rilisan baru, namun semangat hippies rock dalam balutan gitar yang menyayat megah mudah-mudahan berlanjut kembali seperti pada saat rocker glam rock blondie dibuat 'menganga'...more than words can say.

'Saudades De Rock' jadi studio album ke-7 mereka setelah sebelumnya 'Extreme' taun 89, 'Extreme II:Pornograffitti' di 90, 'III Sides to Every Story' taun 92, 'Waiting for the Punchline' di 95, 'An Accidental Collection of Atom' taun 2000, 'The Best of' taun 2002.
